"Introduction to Mass Incarceration" - This presentation is designed to provide a high-level overview of the crisis of mass incarceration in America. It focuses on the statistics of the current situation with a brief historical overview of how this problem developed. 


Brief Bio:

Dr. Brashani Reece is a public speaker for ending life sentences and an advocate for restorative justice practices. As a survivor of violence, Dr. Reece has a personal understanding of the ways in which our criminal justice system is built solely for punishment rather than accountability or healing. Dr. Reece specializes in introducing the key issues related to prison in America to audiences who are new to the conversation. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, with a dual specialization in forensic & child psychology. She is also a trained restorative justice facilitator.
