President Justin Sallaway called the meeting to order. Paul Stone led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, Jim Means shared an invocation, and Susanne McInerney and Lee Sullivan helped us feel a little more patriotic on a beautiful late summer day, with a rousing rendition of "America the Beautiful".

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Winnepesaukee event at Marie Presti's house has been switched to a week later than mentioned in last week's newsletter...the new date is the weekend of September 22.

The Marriott is just about all set to be our new home for a while as Brae Burn does some renovations.

Justin reminded us that we are working on our goals for next year so if anyone has any input about what they would like to see included, let him know.

SARGENT AT ARMS
Mark Nichols
welcomed our guests, potential Newton Rotary Club Member, Mike the winner of the jackpot back in June.  Jim's lovely wife Linda was also in attendance.

RAFFLE: Marie Presti picked the winning raffle ticket, but was not able to correctly pick the ace of spades.

GUESTS
Our guest was supposed to be Sean Bielat, Republican Congressional candidate for Massachusetts' Fourth Congressional District, however he did not make it...

Our program for next week will include guest speaker,  Elizabeth Childs, and Jim Means has personally guaranteed that she will be there! See you all next week!
